It has become a time-honored tradition for OneSpin to pose a holiday puzzle challenge to engineers everywhere. Last year, we asked you to solve the famous Einstein riddle using assertions and a formal tool: It was a great success. For the 2017–18 holiday season, we asked you to solve the hardest Sudoku in the world and prove that the solution is unique. We are delighted that even more enthusiastic engineers have shared their expertise and submitted a multitude of neat and fast solutions.
Verification and validation are two important steps in the creations of electronic systems and over time their roles, but how they play together is changing. In fact, today we are seeing a major opportunity for rethinking this aspect of the flow, which could mean the end of them as separate tasks for many of the chips being created.
DVCon is a yearly gathering of the chip design verification community held at the DoubleTree Hotel in San Jose. I’m certain its organizers and steering committee are pleased with attendance, the program, the exhibit floor and the opportunity for attendees to network. The mood was serious and intent on learning –– after all, chip design verification is a huge and complex problem. Nonetheless, everyone was in great spirits.
OneSpin® Solutions, provider of innovative formal verification solutions for highly reliable, digital integrated circuits (ICs), announced successful completion of a series of factory inspections and audits of its organization and tool development processes by TÜV SÜD.
After a brief hiatus, my column returns after a few months off. I needed a little break from the deadlines and time it takes to write this little column, which I can proudly say, continues to be a top-read piece every month, on EDACafe.com. (Not to brag but what the heck, my Videos, also on EDACafe.com are also always among the top viewed). As the only NON-TECHNICAL writing of our industry, (I have been faithfully publishing it for the past 12 plus years) I have proudly created an amazing following, I wanted to quickly thank all of you who reached out to me after not seeing anything new from me. I so appreciated all the notes and calls, asking when my new column would be published and generally making sure all was OK with me…from CEO’s and VP’s, to my many friends and followers, hearing from you and having you show me all your support for what I do, means so much to me and I THANK YOU.
