Machine learning also presents many new challenges. “Potential implications include issues with safety and security, which still need to be analyzed, understood and solved,” says Raik Brinkmann, president and CEO of OneSpin Solutions. “Questions of accountability and transparency of machine learning models will give rise to new legislation in Europe. Spoofing of road signs, misleading ADAS systems, demonstrate the inherent limitations of current approaches and they will ask for engineering solutions. Finding solutions for these new challenges in 2018 will spawn technology development, more startups, and the need for additional tooling.”
