OneSpin, the provider of formal verification products for integrated circuit (IC), is shipping the TÜV Süd certified "OneSpin 360 EC-FPGA" tool qualification kit. TÜV Süd confirmed that the kit meets the functional safety standards according to ISO 26262 (TCL3 / ASIL-D), IEC 61508 (T2 / SIL-3) and EN 50128 (T2 / SIL-3).

"OneSpin EC-FPGA is the only EDA tool that fully scrutinizes highly optimized FPGAs for autonomous vehicles, aerospace applications, nuclear power plants, and medical devices for systematic errors that may slip into implementation," says Dr. Raik Brinkmann. Safety standards require extensive verification prior to production to minimize the risk of field failure.

EC-FPGA is an automatic sequential equivalence checker (EC) that prevents synthesis, place-and-route, and other implementation errors through field programmable gate array (FPGA) design flows. Using the formal technique, the kit detects infrequent bugs using a process that is more efficient than the gate-level simulation.
